Scrapbook Index

The collection of scrapbooks located at the Portage County Historical Society Library has been indexed. This index was compiled by John Knowlton of Maine for the Historical Society. There are over 180 scrapbooks and this index lists only the names of individuals found in the articles within the scrapbooks. Click on the letter below for the surname you are researching.
Each name references a scrapbook number and page number(s) within that scrapbook.
Example: Smith, James 15--112. The first number is the scrapbook number and the second number is the page. If there appears 15--112, 134 this means that there are two pages within scrapbook #15 containing a mention of James Smith.
You may find a name with two or more scrapbook numbers and/or numerous page numbers. The letters below are not scrapbook numbers.

Please note that we no longer provide information about the contents of an article due to time constraints on the library volunteers.

If you would like a copy of the article or articles that the name appears in you must use the
PCHS scrapbook form.

All copies are 25¢ per page and you must send full payment and a self addressed stamped envelope. Allow at least 2-4 weeks for your request of items to be returned.
